In the winter of 2024, my directing partner Eduardo Padillo and I set up a shoot involving a visiting poet friend, Sparrow. We edited that piece throughout the remainder of 2024 and have started, in 2025, to augment it for what I envision as a three-part omnibus film, POESIA. The second part involves a half hour glimpse into the work and process of Mexican poet/assemblage artist Flor Bosco. A third part matches work from Jack Kerouac's Mexico City Blues with 16mm footage of Mexico City streets and skies. We are planning to enter the completed work to festivals in late 2025/early 2026.
